 ANNE CATHERINEEMMERICH was told by Our Lord that her gift of seeing the past, present, andfuture in mystic vision was greater than that possessed by anyone else inhistory.

吾主耶稣基督曾告诉安纳·加大利纳·艾曼丽,她以神视洞察过去、现在和未来的恩宠比史上任何人所拥有的都要大。

at Flamske inWestphalia, Germany, on September 8, 1774, she became a nun of the AugustinianOrder at Diilmen.

She had the use ofreason from her birth and could understand liturgical Latin from her first timeat Mass.

During the last 12years of her life, she could eat no food except Holy Communion, nor take anydrink except water, subsisting entirely on the Holy Eucharist. From 1802 untilher death, she bore the wounds of the Crown of Thorns, and from 1812, the fullstigmata of Our Lord, including a cross over her heart and the wound from thelance.

Anne CatherineEmmerich possessed the gift of reading hearts, and she saw, in actual, visualdetail, the facts of Catholic belief, which most of us simply have to accept onfaith. The basic truths of the Catechism-Angels, devils, Purgatory, the livesof Our Lord and the Blessed Mother, the Real Presence of Christ in theEucharist, the grace of the Sacraments-all these truths were as real to her asthe material world. Thus, her revelations make the hidden, supernatural worldcome alive.
